Archaeologists at Khovd were informed by several herders of a local burial. Here, they unearthed a 1,500-year-old ancient female remains wrapped in felt including: arms and legs, at an altitude of nearly 2,830 meters (10,000 feet) in the Altai Mountains in Mongolia.

The first completely Turkik burial tomb is believed to have been found in Mongolia, possibly even in Central Asia.

The researchers, who also excavated the tomb, also discovered many more things besides the mummy such as: a clay pot, a saddle, a pillow, a trough, a bridle, an iron kettle, a wooden bowl, four Mongolian clothes "DOOL" and the remains of a whole horse.

However, one thing that has shaken the whole world is that the ancient person was buried wearing a pair of shoes with a design similar to the Adidas logo. These shoes were found very well preserved along with other things.

According to B.Sukhbaatar, a researcher from the Khovd Museum: "This is the first complete Turkik burial around 600 AD in Mongolia - and probably in all of Central Asia."

"We can clearly see that the horse was sacrificed. It was a mare, between four and eight years old. The four clothes we found were made of cotton."

Along with other goods in the grave (placed there for use by people in the afterlife), archaeologists also found: pillows, goat bones, sheep’s head and a travel bag containing the entire back Small sheep and leather bag designed to carry a cup.

Sukhbaatar continued: "This is a very rare phenomenon. The findings tell us the beliefs and rituals of the Turkics. This person was not from the upper class, and we believe it to be a woman. , because there was no bow in the tomb. Interestingly, we found that not only sheep wool was used, but camel wool. We determined the burial date based on these things. which we have found here. It gives us a rough estimate of the burial time around the 6th century AD."

The horse found in the tomb was "used for sacrifice", Sukhbaatar also hypothesized the horse was between 4 and 8 years old.

Standing 2,803 meters (9196 feet) above sea level in cold weather, the 3-meter-deep tomb helped preserve the mummy and its treasures. The team is planning to study the tomb and its contents to get a better understanding of the ancient Turks in Mongolia.

"The findings show us that these people were very skilled craftsmen. Shows that this is the grave of an ordinary person.
